Los Angeles Performers and Entertainers Call Upon Angelenos to Lend their Voice for a Humane Immigration Reform and Attend Forum on March 25, 2007 at LA Sports Arena
WHAT?
Press conference featuring artists and entertainers announcing the First Annual Immigrant Communities Forum “Justice for Our Families Now” to be held on Sunday, March 25, 2007 at the LA Sports Arena. More than 10,000 persons are expected to attend. The focus of the community forum is to educate, entertain, and mobilize Los Angeles in relation to a just and humane immigration reform bill and three other community priorities. To gain access to the Forum, community members are asked to bring a blank envelope and a .39 cent stamp. Letters will be written to their congress representatives and mailed upon the conclusion of the forum. A variety of speakers and entertainment will be presented on March 25, 2007.
WHO?
Entertainers including Juan Rivera, Carmen del Valle, Vilma y La Sonora Dinamita, Trueno Norteño, and immigrant rights community leaders will present more event details and answer questions. Coordinating organizations include APALC, CHIRLA, CARECEN, COFEM, Hermandad Mexicana Nacional, KRC, NAKASEC, NALEO Educational Fund, and SALEF.
