We are Biking Border to Border on the West Coast to Demand Citizenship for All
LOS ANGELES, CA - NAKASEC & Affiliates, HANA Center of greater Chicago, Korean Resource Center of Southern California, and its growing chapter NAKASEC VA, are proud to announce our new “Citizenship for All” campaign which will be launched through our upcoming, border to border “Journey to Justice” Bike Tour August 2018.
NAKASEC & Affiliates’ “Citizenship for All” campaign came from our realization that the Trump administration and members of Congress are willing to hold our young people’s futures hostages to cut family-based sponsorship (“family reunification”) and diversity visas while also allocating more resources towards a border wall and enforcement. We cannot stand for this and demand full citizenship for all non-citizens, from the undocumented to lawful permanent residents. Specifically, NAKASEC & Affiliates call for: a pathway to citizenship for all, citizenship for all intercountry adoptees, protections for family reunification, and no more deportations!
To launch the “Citizenship for All” campaign, NAKASEC & Affiliates will embark on a border to border bike tour under the name “Journey to Justice.” Starting on August 1st, our young leaders and allies will bike from Seattle, Washington and continue on until September 6th where we will end the tour in San Diego, California. Through this campaign, our young leaders will cultivate genuine relationships with the rural and urban communities we will bike to, build coalitions with local immigrant and AAPI organizations, and advocate for policy change that provides a clear pathway to citizenship for all non-citizens. We encourage our supporters to visit our “Journey to Justice” website at www.godreamriders.org to learn more about how to get involved in the bike ride and support us. Furthermore, we are asking folks to follow us on social media for real time updates about the “Journey to Justice” Bike Tour.
