Dear Volunteer,
The reason I'm writing now is to let you know we have begun preparing for our Spring 2008 Health Day, which has been set for Saturday, April 26. Unfortunately, some of the volunteer physicians we had lined up can no longer make it. We are asking you now to donate your time and expertise as a volunteer physician next Saturday to help low-income uninsured residents in the community.
As you are aware, the success of these Koreatown Health Days is directly related to the volunteers who come to our events. We'd like to ask whether we can count on your support during our next Health Day. If you are interested in participating during our next Health Day, please reply to this email with your name, mailing address, and phone number.
The event will be held at the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles (1102 Crenshaw Blvd / Los Angeles, CA 90019)
http://www.lafla.org/contact/wescont.asp.
It is scheduled between 9:00-4:00 (with lunch scheduled from 12:00-1:00).
If you cannot participate for the whole time, please choose the shift that best fits your schedule. At the moment, we are especially in need of a nurse who can administer blood tests.
Morning Shift:
9:00-12:00
(Please arrive by 8:30; breakfast will be ready at 8:00)
Afternoon Shift:
1:00-4:00
(Please arrive by 12:30; lunch will be ready at 12:00)
Thank you so much, we look forward to hearing from you!
Irene Dokko

==========
We trust you are well and enjoyed your week-end.
This is a final reminder about the Koreatown Health Day, which is this Saturday, April 26.
We have you confirmed as a volunteer for all day. Please see the postscript for shift details.
For your information, I'm including some logistics details below. Please contact me with any questions you may have, thank you.
REGISTRATION:
Upon arrival, please make sure to sign in and verify your contact information at the registration desk.
As a volunteer, be sure to pick up a red volunteer shirt at the registration desk; this will make it easier for you to identify yourself for our clients.
SITE LOGISTICS:
The event will be held at the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles (1102 Crenshaw Blvd / Los Angeles, CA 90019)
http://www.lafla.org/contact/wescont.asp. The site will have ample parking in the back. Please note there will be some spaces already reserved for a mobile clinic.
We expect to use only the first floor of the building for client services. However, we have a room on the second floor available for dropping off luggage as well as meals.
MEALS:
We are thinking of providing kimbop (rice and seaweed rolls) or subway sandwiches for lunch. Please let me know what you prefer and whether you would like a vegetarian option as well.
Please do let me know if there is anything we can do or prepare for to assist you in any other way.
Yours,
Irene Dokko
