Celebrating
the Life of Late Han Bong Yoon

On June 26,
2007, Yoon Han Bong, a former
political asylee who founded
the Korean Resource Center,
Young Koreans United and the
Korean Alliance for Peace and
Justice, passed away at 58 years
of age. A visionary and critical
political thinker, Yoon is widely
recognized for contributing
significantly to the development
of the progressive Korean American
grassroots movement in the United
States. As people in Korea mark
the end of the ritual 49 days
of mourning, Korean Americans
in California will also gather
together to celebrate his life
and legacy. Please join us as
we seek to keep his spirit alive

hold a graduation ceremony for
the 2007 Summer Youth Empowerment
program students on August 16th.
It will showcase the achievements
of the youth and feature the

Premiere of the Youth produced-documentary
on the Korean American Immigrant
Experience

event is the fundraising kick
off for ORAnGE’s (KRC youth
group) goal of setting up a
scholarship fund for immigrant
youth. Be prepared to purchase
yummy cookies or to make a donation

Makes Annual Grants

The
Asian Pacific Community Fund
Makes Annual Grants to its Affiliate
Agencies

On Thursday,
June 28, 2007 at 2121 Lofts
in the Artist District of Los
Angeles, the Asian Pacific Community
Fund (APCF) presented grant
awards totaling over $125,000
to its member agencies. APCF
was founded in 1990 to establish
a common vehicle through which
people could donate directly
to Asian and Pacific Islander
and other communities in need.
