Community Meeting on Comprehensive Immigration Reform

Dear Friends of KRC,

With a new year and a new congress, we have a major opportunity to make Comprehensive Immigration Reform (CIR) a reality. Please join us in a community discussion meeting on CIR!

The immigrant community came out in great numbers last year to show our rejection of the anti-immigrant Sensenbrenner Bill H.R. 4437 and pushed for humane reform by marching, naturalizing, and voting in the November elections.

The Korean Resource Center and the Korean American community stood by the principles of path to citizenship, family reunification, workers’ rights and civil rights & liberties. In an exit poll conducted during the November 2006 elections, the Korean American population has shown a strong support for a comprehensive solution: 78% support legalization for undocumented immigrations and 87% want the entry process to the country to be faster. Please join us in a meeting reviewing of our work in 2006 and prospects for immigration reform and the DREAM Act campaign in 2007.
