Dear Friends,
We’d like to invite you to join us for “Citizenship Day,” an ambitious effort to help thousands of immigrants become U.S. citizens. Citizenship Day is the kick off to the “Democracy Summer,” a national campaign to naturalize, register and mobilize one million participants organized by the We Are America Alliance.
On July 1st, in Los Angeles there will be a large-scale naturalization clinic with hundreds of volunteers helping eligible immigrants to fill out the citizenship application at no cost. The goal is to assist 2000 immigrants and their families in completing and filing their applications. Together, with your help, we can make it happen.
When: July 1st, 2006, 8 AM to 4 PM
Where: LA Convention Center
1201 S. Figueroa Street
To make this event a huge success, we need volunteers to help individuals complete the applications, immigration attorneys to provide one-on-one consultations, and general help to ensure that the event runs smoothly. Trainings will be provided for all volunteers on:
Thursday, June 29th, 6-8 PM
@ Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles (1102 Crenshaw Blvd., LA)
Another training date TBA
