KRC Joins in Support of Fast and Vigil to Demand the 5th Circuit Court to Rule on Administrative Relief

5th Circuit Judges are Functionally Acting as Puppets of Anti-Immigrant Politicians

WHAT: The Korean Resource Center will hold a press conference on Wednesday, October 14 to demand the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals to rule on the administrative relief case they has been sitting on for almost a year. NAKASEC, the Korean American Resource and Cultural Center (KRCC), and the Korean Resource Center (KRC) will also pledge to join solidarity fasts, engage in a social media campaign, and lead community conversations in support of the “The Fast to Keep Families Together” - a powerful 9 day fast and vigil starting on October 14th outside the courthouse in New Orleans led by impacted immigrant families and national leaders representing faith, labor, civil rights, and the immigrant community. The administrative relief programs, namely expanded DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) and DAPA (Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents), could keep families together and provide them with temporary protections.

The strategy of anti-immigrant politicians, aided by a conservative court delaying a response to President Obama’s administrative relief, is tearing apart thousands of families every day. Anti-immigrant politicians are playing politics with the courts and people’s lives and are putting American values on hold.
