Join us in Celebrating Chinese for Affirmative Action's 47th Anniversary

Dear Friends,

Please join me to support an organization near and dear to my heart - Chinese for Affirmative Action (CAA). CAA will celebrate their 47th anniversary on Thursday, September 8, 2016 in San Francisco’s Chinatown. For more information, click here.

I met CAA and its leader Vincent Pan many years ago in San Francisco. Over time, I’ve become a fan of CAA and Vincent. CAA is making history with Asian American communities in the Bay Area. Their campaigns for language access, affordable higher education and protecting state programs for low-income families in California are part of a bigger journey for justice.

Vincent is a tremendous leader, completely dedicated to community organizing and grassroots advocacy while being humble.  One memorable story I would like to share is how during Thanksgiving in 2013, he gave up the temptation of turkey and gravy, fasting instead for 10 days as part of a national campaign, Fast For Families, for immigrant families and humane immigration reform.  His sincere commitment touched many community members in San Francisco’s Chinatown and drew in much needed attention from the Chinese American ethnic media.

I am confident that you and I will hear more about CAA’s exciting news and accomplishments in the coming months and year, and your kind support will help CAA to sustain and strengthen its great work for Chinese and Asian American communities in Northern California.

My fundraising goal is $1,000 for CAA. I’ve pledged $200. Will you join me?

Thanks so much for your kind support

Sincerely,

DJ Yoon, NAKASEC and KRC
