One out of two Korean Americans residing in the United States do not have health insurance. However, access to health care is a basic right, and it is extremely important for all Americans and their family members to have access to health care. Those without health insurance are not able to receive treatment even when they are extremely sick because of the exorbitant costs.
Currently, the Obama administration is advocating a sweeping health reform, and both the House and the Senate are working on health care reform bills as we speak. This is a special opportunity for the Korean American community to speak out and voice the need for equitable affordable health care that is necessary to be healthy contributing member of US society. In order to reflect the needs of the Korean American community, the Korean Resource Center is working on a petition drive that calls for health care reform.
We need volunteers to help collect signatures for this important Health Reform Petition. Please join us and volunteer !
