A Prayer for Immigration Reform
Korean American Churches Participate in National Faith Campaign
(Los Angeles, CA) On Sunday, February 22, 2009, Korean Resource Center is working with 11 Korean American churches throughout the Southern California area to participate in the national “Prayer, Renewal & Action on Immigration” campaign.
In partnership with the Interfaith Immigration Coalition, the goal is to illustrate that just & humane immigration reform is a top priority for people of faith in the Korean American community and also demonstrates the growing movement in our community for reform in 2009. Timed to coincide with the first Congressional recess of the year, over 130 events have been held around the country.
“Our church supports the rights of immigrants. We are proud to work with the Korean Resource Center to pass immigration reform,” said Rev. Ki. H. Han, Minister, Los Angeles Dong San Church.
“There are strong signs for just & humane immigration reform in 2009. Because the issue of immigration reform is an ongoing concern to our community, strengthening relationships with all sectors of our diverse community is a top priority for the Korean Resource Center,” said JungHee Lee, Immigrant Rights Organizer, Korean Resource Center
