Los Angeles, CA - The Korean Resource Center is moving its Los Angeles offices back to the first floor of the Durae Crenshaw Apartment, built as the result of a 10-year project to increase low-income senior housing in Koreatown. The new address will be 900 Crenshaw Boulevard, (same as its pre-2014 address) and the phone number will stay the same at 323-937-3718. KRC will close for the office move from Thursday, May 26th to Tuesday, May 31st, and will resume operations on Wednesday, June 1st. KRC's seniors group, "Community Health Promoters", will cancel its monthly meeting for May and postpone it for June.
Director Joon Bang expressed "the Durae Apartments is the result of years of organizing and activism of our members, including our seniors at Community Health Promoters. I extend our deepest gratitude to our members, Little Tokyo Service Center, Decro Corporation, our many donors in our first "Brick by Brick" campaign of 1997 who helped purchase the land, investors, banks and government offices, and donors in our second "Brick by Brick" campaign of 2016". The construction project is slightly delayed from the original projections. Residents of the Durae Crenshaw Apartments are expected to move in around July, if not earlier. The other Durae Apartment - Durae Kingsley Apartment - is expected to complete construction work around July. Part of KRC's operations will then move to Kingsley. Levine Management will notify all residents at the Durae Apartments of their respective move in dates.
KRC's Orange County office in Buena Park will continue operating normally.
