Dear Supporters and Friends of KRC,
On behalf of the KRC Board, I am pleased to announce exciting changes at our organization.
First, I’d like to extend my sincere appreciation to Jenny Seon, who stepped up to play a critical role as our interim Executive Director since May 2015. With her leadership and commitment, KRC remained strong providing valuable services and building the voices of our community. Jenny will be transitioning to focus her work as KRC’s Immigrant Rights Project Director.
Secondly, it is with great pleasure that I announce that Joon Young Bang will be joining our organization as the Los Angeles Director.
Joon Y. Bang will focus on the administration, management, development and financial responsibilities for KRC in support of its mission. Prior to joining KRC, Joon was the Associate Director of The UCLA Foundation. He helped advance the philanthropic pillar of the organization by partnering with the organization’s Board of Directors, specifically, the Nominations and Governance and Philanthropy committees. At the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Joon managed the Annual Civil Rights Training Institute, the organization’s scholarship program, operations, strategic planning and special projects. Joon earned his BA in Social Science with a double minor in Intercultural and Biblical Studies from Biola University and is a certified Project Management Professional. Joon has been the Associate Director of the UCLA Foundation and Manager of Programs and Operations at the NAACP LDF. Joon brings valuable experience in operations, project management, and fundraising as well as a strong commitment to social justice.
Thirdly, for KRC's Orange County Office, Isabel Kang joined our leadership team as the OC Director in November 2015. Isabel comes with over 20 years of experience advocating for the rights of domestic violence survivors. Prior to coming to KRC, she was the Program Director at the Korean Community Center of the East Bay in Oakland. As our OC Director, Isabel is currently overseeing the programs and operation for the OC office.
At the helm of our organization, Dae Joong Yoon will continue to serve as KRC’s President.
Thank you for your enduring support for KRC.
Sincerely,
Julie Lee Kuramada
KRC Board Chair
